Its my rock!

"Dont touch it!"Didi says. As soon as we got to the park, he found this rock and wouldnt let go of it. I tried to snatch it from him but he just threw a tantrum, rolled around in the wood chips that covered the playground floor. He was pretty attached to that rock, carrying it up and down the play structure as you can see in the videos.

Reminds me that I must tell you about Didi's short temper. Didi can easily anger and get frustrated. (He must get that from Mammy). And he will throw a tantrum to shows his dislike for what's going on. He just flops himself on the ground face down and flails his arms and legs. People think that he is just tired and sometimes he is but a lot of the time, he is just angry and frustrated that he cant have his way. In this case at the park, he flopped to the ground about 3 or 4 times, once when I took his rock, another time when I took his snack and another time when Mammy confiscated a cookie that he dropped on the ground that got all sandy. Let me tell you, don't mess with Didi, he will bite you, pull your hair or make one of these scenes.

Pirate Play Park

yes, I make friends easily. Sometimes I go to the park and pick a few people I think I like and go up to them and make a friend. That is how I find fun at the park. Otherwise, I am not too interested in playing by myself.

Labor Day

While Baba was golfing, Mammy took us out to the pirate ship park once again. There I met a friend who played with me climbing on the spider web and joking with Didi. Didi got hold of the bag of grapes and wouldnt let go. He walked around the park until he finished both the bag that Mammy had prepared for me as well as for him.

More Beach Day

Great Save!

There have been a few openings of ice cream parlors in our area with rave reviews. One fine evening, after dinner on a lovely summer night, we took a stroll down the street to the nearest one. I had begged for an ice cream and Mammy finally caved in. I sat on an unsturdy chair on the sidewalk and nearly fell over when I tried to reposition myself. Luckily I have amazing balance and while preventing myself from face planting on the ground I also saved my ice cream. The most important part!

Labor Day weekend

It has been a beautiful weekend. One of the very best this summer. You could say that we really did not have a summer at all given the cool weather...ofcourse I have only been around for 3 summers. That would be the extent of my experience.

Anyhow, on the friday, Baba took a day off and we (without Didi) went to the national exposition. An excellent day with fries, wings, cotton candy, midway rides (though I didnt go on any), games. I played a fishing game and won my first stuffed toy, a orange and red polka dotted frog. On to the dog show! My very first. Boy the dogs are smart. I wasnt interested in petting them though when the show was done. Maybe I am just not into animals just yet. Then I slept for 2 hours in the stroller while Mammy and Baba tried to kill some time. Finally they got tired of waiting for me get up and they walked back to the car. I wasnt disappointed though, I had had enough of a good time for one day.

On Saturday, in the moring, we took a lovely walk to a new breakfast place. Great bennies according to my parents. Didi ate pretty much everything on his plate whereas, I just ate the eggs. What a fabulous morning!!! We walked home and then we drove for 1.5 hours to cool place where was a quaint street to walk down, where they made brooms from corn with rual, old equipment. St. J's County I think they called this town. Yeh and Mama were supposed to come join us but they got lost and turned around to go home. Then we went to the farmers market. Another cool place with many outdoor and indoor vendors. Food, baked goods, produce, clothes shoes. Anything you can think of. Unfortunately, through the day, both Didi and I were super cranky. I needed to be held the whole day, was super winney (unfortunately for Mammy and Baba neither red nor white) and didnt eat a thing. We did not get a good nap cause Mammy had to make a pit stop (pee pee monster) and the slowing down of the car woke up Didi who screamed and woke me up as well. We were supposed to visit Sarah and Olivia but in the end, Mammy and Baba decided we should probably head home. They had had enough of us jokers. They were so tired of us they even let Didi pretend he was driving the car...luckily we both fell asleep a good solid 1.5 hours on the way home. Didi has been having some trouble getting himself to sleep at night, waking frequently and having some trouble with his naps. This night was no exception. Mammy thinks it is just because he is teething while Baba thinks this is just the way he is. So frequently he gets less sleep than me. On this night I went to bed promptly at 8 pm though I had 2 naps one of which was quite late in the day. Didi...well sometimes he doesnt get to bed until close to 8pm and still wakes up shortly after 6am....Luckily over the last few nights no more 5 am wakenings.

On the Sunday, we headed to another beach about 25 minutes from the house. A most magnificent place. It was just 9 am. The weather was warm and there was a cool breeze. Just enough to fly a kite effortlessly. Even a 3 year old can fly a kite you know! The beach had just been combed and cleaned. The water was warm. Mammy played with Didi in the sand. Substituting a plastic spoon, some disposable chopsticks, a plastic water bottle and her stainless steel coffee cup for sand toys, since we forgot them at home. I got myself all wet in the water and had to go home half naked without underwear because we did not bring a change of clothes. It was all worth it! The sand was fine and beautiful and a beach with hardly any rocks (though for Didi and I that is the fun of going to the beach). We went home, had a bath and had a golden hour nap, had a bite of lunch and went back to the beach with all our gear this time. When we got there, there were tons more people and it was our LUCKY DAY because there were police guarding the parking lot cause it was absolutely full, but Mammy spotted a woman leaving int he first row and we nabbed the spot. We even got a free parking ticket from some other guy who was leaving! The beach now was much more occupied with people. I was in my bathing suite and enjoyed picking up ladybugs in my shovel and running back and forth from the waves and Didi got himself quite dirty sitting in the water with his regular clothes and diaper on and face planting into a pile of wet sand. However, he He ate a lot of sandy grapes and I ate a lot of Goldfish crackers. We came home to some take out pizza, a bath and I hit the sack right at 8pm. Didi struggled as per usual and finally settled down at 11:30pm!

The following day, labor day, we went back to the pirate boat play park and Mammy got some take out dim sum. Didi wolfed down just as much as Baba. Unbelievable sometimes how much that little guy can eat. And he sure likes eating on his own. Now, if you even go near his high chair or even as much as look in his direction, he gets very annoyed and points away "GO!" he says. I think that next to "HI" , its his favorite word. He even hardly says Minbao which is chinese for bread because I think that he has both tired of bread and oatmeal for breakfast.

Speaking of breakfast....I have just become the biggest egg monster...typically, I have about 2 eggs per day. Mammy has to buy a dozen and half each week just to keep us barely from running out! Me, I am still not a fan of bread of any kind. Didi, last night ate by himself 2 slices of pizza and me? Hardly any, especially the crust which I am not fond of. (by the way, do you think that is inheritable?)

Beach down the street

A few weeks ago, we had Sarah, Olivia, Uncle Mike and Kuma visit. We took them to enjoy the beach down the street about 5 min away. There is a new playground and soccer field just adjacent to it. Didi and I climbed all over the pirate ship which is really cool!

Ice cream? No thanks

Earlier on in the summer, Mammy had a friend and family visit from far away. They were here for a wedding. They came to visit one afternoon. It was a fairly hot day and we enjoyed playing in the backyard splashing in the wadding pool. We had a nice dinner together and afterwards, we were all surprised to find out that Eddy and Ben did not like sweets! No fruit, jam, chocolate, juice, ice cream and even candy!!!! How could anyone not like candy. I just didnt believe it. I asked them several times if they were interested in some ice cream for dessert. "No Thank-You"was their answer. Are you sure? How about candy? "No thank-you" was their answer. Are you absolutely certain? Okay. Let me show you just how good it tastes. I will just have to feed it to you. Well, Eddy did have some. I guess it was just because I was sharing that he enjoyed it so much.
