Walking with serious thought and contemplation
Who might I be imitating here? Grandpa? Nobody is certain where it is I learned to walk with my hands behind my back. Perhapes I am much wiser than my one year of age.
Catching the bubbles at my birthday party
Here I am enjoying the bubbles Mammy is blowing at me. You may not have noticed that I previously blogged a picture of me catching the bubbles. Why dont you zoom on those photos and figure out which one it is?
Ila's Party

Its official! Ila my friend was officially adopted by Auntie Grace and Uncle Paul. And today they had a celebration for her birthday. There were over 30 members of her family there and some of us friends. I was much too distracted to eat. Ila was very pretty. All dressed up in a beautiful green dress. Here are some pictures of her and her family. They also celebrated my birthday again too. There appeared to be many birthdays at the restaurant. I heard them sing many
"Happy Birthday" songs. I thought that it was all for me. I had good time. I hope they like the pictures that Daddy took!

Loving My Drum ...Sticks
Mammy and Daddy bought me a drum set for my birthday. Well its not a real a drum set. Nevermind the drum. What I love are the sticks. Now children don't be trying these stunts at home. And for all you adults...dont worry, I am a professional!

My First Birthday!
What's all the hubub about? It was my first birthday yesterday. Not really sure what that all means yet except that I got a lot of attention. A lot of presents too. Mammy and Daddy gave me some helium balloons and Mammy made me an apple crumble for my birthday cake. They put sparklers into the crumble and made me wear a hat. They wore some hats too. Mammy blew bubbles like they did at the day care. I liked that but wasnt too keen on the apple crumble. I bit sour for me. Actually they had my party a bit late in the day and by then I was frankly ready for bed and found it difficult to get too excited. I got two beautiful skirts from my Aunt May and Uncle Mike and my cousins Sarah and Olivia and some shoes from Grandpa and Grandma. Mammy and Daddy gave me some books, water toys, clothes and party favors. Auntie Anita bought me a little purse with hair clips and a t-shirt, capri pant set. Too bad Auntie Anita couldnt be here for the party. She was off for the weekend. Today I think that they are going to take me to the mall for a walk in my new shoes. Not nice enough to go outside yet. Actually I went for a walk with Auntie anita around the block for an hour on friday. Mammy and Daddy discovered us on the sidewalk where I was getting to know one of our neighbours children. I really enjoyed it; walking around that is on my own outside. The weather was perfect and warm. However it has been just a bit cool this weekend. Sometimes I would take a break and sit on the sidewalk and pick things up. Fortunately for the adults, I am no longer putting everything into my mouth. Everyone says "THANK GOODNESS!" Back to the B day party, I most of all enjoyed everyone singing Happy Birthday in unison to me while Grandpa also played the keyboard. Maybe I can learn to sing it soon myself!

A head start on my music career
Mammy and Daddy got me some new toys to explore my musical talents. They recognized my natural ability during a St. Patricks Day pub lunch. At the pub they had some party favors at our table and mammy showed me how to blow through the whistle thingy. I couldnt get enough air through it to make a noise with it but I did get the general idea. So the both of them hurried to the nearest store to pick up the toys to try out my talent. Here is my first recital. Enjoy!

Over the Roseola
The day after I came back from daycare I developed a very high fever. Auntie Antia blammed it on the snow storm. They thought I might have caught something on the public transportation or being at the daycare. The fever was as high as 40 and went on for a few days. I managed to stay in good spirits during those days. Then the fever got better but the I got a little bit of diarrehea and Mammy thought that it might be gastroenteritis. I mean stomach flu. That is why I havent been blogging for a few days now. Finally I got a full body rash; first on my trunk, then my face and then my arms and legs. By this point I was actually quite lethargic and had poor appetite. This too, went on for a few days. Now I am finally better. It took me a whole week to recover. Mammy realized (ofcourse) that I had Roseola. Apparently all kids get it and I had a classic case minus the febrile seizures. Thank goodness. Just like that, first the high fever then the rash which developed in exactly the same sequence as I described. The incubation is 5-10 days so I must have caught it somehow the previous week and it had nothing to do with the daycare or the storm. The scientists still dont know how it is passed on. Anyhow just another milestone I thought I would share with you all. No pictures to show for it unfortunately.
You are what you eat.
Grandpa took this video almost 2 months ago now. It was the day we went to visit them for lunch. I really did enjoy myself although Mammy and Daddy had to clean up the floors a few times. Since the time of this video, they still havent allowed me to eat on my own.

My First Report Card

There was a big snow storm here in the city today and it was also the day that Auntie Anita had an appointment with the doctor. So Mammy and Daddy decided it was a good opportunity to try me out at a daycare center near Daddy's work. Yesterday, Mammy and Daddy went to check out the daycare facilites and were so impressed with how all the babies and toddlers could be all sleeping so peacefully. They made a bet with the caretaker that I wouldnt sleep. So they got me registered and arrangements were made so that I could come today. Even knowing about the snow storm coming they decided it was a go ahead. So Mammy woke me up early, got me ready, packed up my food, drinks, snacks, extra clothes, diapers, wipes and EPI Pen ofcourse for my dairy allergy and off we went. We caught a street car that took us almost to the front doors of the day care. I really enjoy riding the street car. The people! The sights! We arrived at the day care about 7:30 and Mammy and Daddy stayed for a while to watch me. I got comfortable quite easily. I was a ittle bit shy initially but I warmed up quickly. When all the other kids arrived I watched them for a while, then played with them and then ofcourse bossed them around a bit. I am not sure they understood me but the caretakers said I sounded convincing. I enjoyed the music, bubbles, toys and other kids. As they predicted, I almost didnt sleep. Only 25 minutes in fact. I am not sure you can call that a nap. On the way home, I was so tired Mammy sang me songs till I fell asleep on the street car. Amazing! I cant remember the last time I fell asleep in someone's arms! I was so tired, I slept right through them getting off the street car, waiting in the shelter while snow and wind blew on my face (though Mammy tried to protect me from the elements the best she could), slept right through them getting on another street car, getting off and walking several hundred meters back to the house. I woke up just before we arrived at the front steps. It must have been one of the worse snow storms ever! The snow was blowing so hard that it was all flying horizontally! That's bad! Then I got myself a nice hot meal, a nice hot bath, some nice hot milk and went straight to bed without a fuss. They are for sure thinking of taking me back. I am a sure social butterfly. Maybe I will be a regular at the daycare. Check out my report card. I was a good girl! I was a good eater though perhapes not a good drinker. And overall as it says "I had a good day!"
